The public website uses Patreon authentication and server-side entitlement checks for protected Episode 4 access. Only qualifying Patreon memberships receive protected story packages; offline-license features remain optional and may not be available in every release.
1. Who operates the service
13 BBC is operated by Liturgy, publishing under the creator name Liturgy ("we", "us", or "our"), from the United States. The canonical service is available at www.13bbc.net.
2. Adults only
The service is intended only for people aged 18 or older who may legally view adult material where they are located. The entry gate records that the current notice was accepted. We do not ask for or intentionally store a date of birth through the basic self-attestation gate.
3. Information we process
Age-notice acceptance
We may store the gate version, minimum age, acceptance time, expiry time, and privacy-preserving hashes derived from network and browser information for security and compliance records.
Patreon connection
When Patreon access is enabled and you connect Patreon, Patreon sends us a stable Patreon account identifier and may provide a display name, profile image, campaign membership, current entitled tier identifiers, patron status, payment-state indicator, gifted-membership status, and trial status. Display names and images may be unavailable. We do not receive your full payment-card number from Patreon.
Application sessions
We issue a random first-party session cookie. The raw cookie is stored only in your browser as an HttpOnly cookie; our database stores a cryptographic derivative rather than the raw value. The hosted game may also hold non-authoritative interface preferences in local browser storage.
Premium-content and offline access
We may process content-ticket records, entitlement decisions, one-time offline redemption codes, signed-license identifiers, capability keys, expiry times, and, where Android device binding is enabled, a fingerprint of an application public key.
Security and support
Our servers may process IP addresses, request times, routes, browser or application identifiers, rate-limit information, error information, and security events. Support correspondence contains whatever information you choose to provide.
4. Why we process it
- Provide the website and hosted game.
- Maintain sessions and age-gate acceptance.
- Confirm Patreon access when enabled.
- Deliver protected story and translation packages when enabled.
- Issue and verify offline licenses when enabled.
- Prevent abuse, ticket replay, unauthorized package access, and account misuse.
- Answer support, privacy, legal, and security requests.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
5. Service providers
The service architecture uses Hostinger for hosting and MySQL infrastructure, GitHub for private source and deployment repositories, and Patreon for membership authentication and entitlement information. Email and support messages are handled through the 13bbc.net contact mailboxes and the mail provider configured for those addresses. Each provider processes data under its own terms and privacy policy.
6. Cookies and local storage
Strictly necessary cookies include the hosted age-gate acceptance, temporary OAuth security state, and authenticated application session. Local storage may contain age-gate fallback acceptance, theme, accessibility, audio, gallery, and other game preferences. We do not plan to enable advertising or non-essential analytics at launch.
7. Retention
- OAuth state and one-time content tickets: minutes, then automatic cleanup.
- Application sessions: up to 30 days, with an idle timeout of 7 days unless changed in deployment policy.
- Patreon membership snapshots: retained while needed for access, reconciliation, dispute handling, and security.
- Offline licenses and redemption records: through expiry plus up to 24 months for security, abuse prevention, and dispute handling.
- Security logs: up to 24 months unless a longer period is needed for investigation, abuse prevention, or legal compliance.
- Support correspondence: up to 36 months after the last interaction unless a longer period is needed to resolve a request or meet legal obligations.
8. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We disclose information to service providers where required to operate the service, to professional advisers, to authorities where legally required, or during a legitimate organizational transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.
9. International processing
The operator is based in the United States. Hostinger, GitHub, Patreon, and other service providers may process data in the United States or other countries. When required, transfers are handled through the provider's published safeguards, contracts, or other available legal mechanisms.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information. You may disconnect by logging out, clear local preferences in your browser, and request account deletion by emailing privacy@13bbc.net. We may need enough information to verify the request.
11. Security
We use HTTPS, secure first-party cookies, server-side entitlement checks, private premium-content storage, one-time delivery tickets, encrypted token storage, signed offline licenses, access controls, and build-time secret/content scanning. No online system is entirely risk-free, and content rendered on an authorized device can ultimately be captured by that device's user.
12. Children
The service is not directed to anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has supplied information, contact privacy@13bbc.net.
13. Changes
Material changes may cause the age/content notice to be displayed again. The effective date and gate version identify the current release.
